Outback Knives & Tools is a one man custom knife company based in Sydney Australia. I have been into knifemaking for more than 10 years now. I design my knives using the latest 3D CAD software and do prototyping on my personal CNC to see if the knife is ergonomic and fits like a glove in the hand.
My knives are built with the most current high tech manufacturing processes that includes waterjet cutting, CNC milling, etc. My steel of choice are 1095, CPM D2, CPM3V ,and CPM S35VN steel which are the best steel for field application.
Hills Heat Treatment ( vacuum heat treatment specialist ) is Australia’s leading and most high tech heat treat company. I send all my knives to them. In my opinion, there is nothing more important to a good quality knife than the heat treating process. I don’t DIY like most knife makers do, because I believe only a professional certified metallurgical engineer is the best authority in doing it.Outback knives have a Cerakote coating which is the leading protection used for guns and knives.
